Started by Rick Sobotka after a childhood of helping his dad brew in his small hometown in upstate New York. A former anesthesiologist who traveled the US  touring breweries, worked as a brewmaster’s apprentice at San Diego Brewery and served pints at Breckenridge Brewery.

After returning home he started Great South Bay. Rick sums up this brewery best, “I create beers that I enjoy drinking, and I’m quite particular when it comes to that. If you want quality and creativity in your beer, I know you’ll choose a few of mine.”

Beer #1: Muscat Love

Style: Belgian Tripel
ABV: 11%
IBU: 29
Our Thoughts: “Pale golden color, moderate head with a wine aroma. A lot of similarities to white wine with tannin character. “
